Which lure catches Blue Shark?

Use the Standard Boss Lure in the Desert / Island 3. Mobalytics assigns Blue Shark to that boss pool, and IGN agrees that the Desert is its intended progression area. Do not confuse the boss lure with the ordinary Standard Lure used for Catfish, Angelfish, and Bowlfish.

IGN also notes a low chance with the ordinary Standard Lure, but Mobalytics lists only Standard Boss Lure. Because those descriptions differ, the boss lure is the supported, repeatable recommendation; the ordinary-lure chance remains source-disputed.

How do you land Blue Shark safely?

Choose open ground, reload, and make room before you cast. Blue Shark changes the activity from fishing to combat as soon as it lands. A cramped edge makes it easier to lose the creature back into the water and harder to keep clean weapon angles.

  1. Unlock the Desert’s lure tier.
  2. Equip a Standard Boss Lure and confirm it in the active slot.
  3. Park or stand where the landing path is unobstructed.
  4. Cast, reel the shark fully onto land, and switch to your weapon.
  5. Defeat it and verify the kill in the collection tracker.

If the fight is the bottleneck, review the best weapons guide before burning more lures. The boat upgrade route helps if reaching the Desert safely is the problem instead.

Is Blue Shark one of the rare fish?

Blue Shark is better classified as an optional miniboss. The game does not expose a verified universal rarity ladder matching the Tier 1–3 scheme in the supplied Steam link; that link is for WEBFISHING. Blue Shark can also have a rare Drip form, which is a second collection target.

For all 49 names and classes, see the Fish compendium. For the separate Drip hunt, use the rare fish locations guide.

How much is Blue Shark worth?

IGN lists $300 as the base value. Actual sales vary with size and score modifiers, so do not treat the table value as a fixed payout. On a first catch, collection progress is usually more important than optimizing the sale.

What evidence supports the route?

The two main creature indexes agree on Desert progression and a boss-lure encounter. The only material disagreement is IGN’s extra note about a low Standard Lure chance, which has not been independently quantified.
